I was a bit on edge starting this book, because the movie had already come out (yes I was late), but when I started it I couldn't stop, it was so different and unique. She should've focused more on the flashbacks, because that was what I enjoyed most instead of the duller scenes in the hospital. (Oh god I problably sounded like a monster, oh well).

I enjoyed this book but I actually preferred the second book, Where She Went.

I just watched the movie for my Based On The Books Teen Movie Night (I work at a library) and I was wondering how true the movie was to the book. I have not read it yet but I absolutely loved the movie and I would like to read the sequel if the movie adaptation was true to the book.

If I Stay was a book that I, too, added to my reading list when I saw the movie trailer. Surprisingly enough, I still haven't actually watched the movie. Anyways, I totally agree with the first review. If I Stay breaks away from the traditional young adult romance novel and breaks through to something entirely beautiful and breathtaking. This young romance shows you what love truly is. It is the ability to let go. It is wanting someone so much that you are willing to leave them. This book broke my heart and the sequel put all of those broken pieces back together. I would recommend this series to anyone, whether a teenager or an adult, because I truly believe that Gayle Forman has taught her readers what love is supposed to be. She has taught her readers the hardships of life and the difficulties faced in putting a broken life back together. Her series demonstrates the importance of personal growth and independence before love.

I too read this book after seeing the preview for the movie. It was wonderful, and the movie did a fair job of portraying the storyline until close to the end. Then it's a little different. Book was better, as usual!

I personally expected more from this book after i saw the trailer, i was very excited and maybe had too big expectations. Though it was good, just not as sentimental and thrilling i wanted it to be.

I thought the story and plot for this book was original and thoughtful and new, and I was really looking forward to reading it. Unfortunately, the final result was very unimpressive. I felt that the writing was really slow and there wasn't much of a build up to anything. Also, many events in the story were under explained and the characters didn't really show much development. I felt that Adam and Mia's story was just beginning at the end of the book, since all we get are snippets of their lives. I also read the sequel Where She Went and I don't know if it was any better. This book would have worked better if it was a little longer, rather than two books-especially two so far spaced.

I have been wanting to get into this book for awhile but it is incredibly hard to get into a book that I have seen the movie too. The movie was sad so I'm assuming the book is also. Not sure if i'm ready for that kind of emotional abuse.

If I stay was an intense book that I didn't want to end. I'm glad there's a sequel.

I honestly despise this book. Some parts of it were really good and then the ending came. How can you end a book like that and not pick up where you left of in a second book???? That killed it for me. I think I would have liked it a lot better if it had been a trilogy instead of a duology.

I read If I Stay and loved it. I waited a while because of all the hype but I was sorry I did. A wonderful book I also read Where She Went the sequel right away because the story was so compelling.

I loved this book! I definatley read it in one sitting. Your right, music was a major part of the book. I was bawling my eyes out this entire book. Was it just me? Still haven't seen the movie, I'm scared to will ruin my mental images.

I personally love the book. That was that first time I'd read a book that the POV changed from character to character, so I don't have much input on that; but the way the author did it was amazing. I fell in love with the book and characters from page to page. It's a book I could read over and over, and if I were going on vacation, I'd read in the car. Overall, it was such a beautiful book, and I'd suggest it to anyone that would be able to keep up with the POV changes.

I didn't like If I Stay because it wasted my time just trying to get one message across: Should she stay or should she go. The book was recommended to me by a friend and at first I wasn't interested in reading it. The romantic notions were nice and funny but overall, it wasn't all that good. After I read the book, I promised myself not to read the second one or watch the movie. It was really disappointing.
