Re: Official Review: Tick by Allison Rose
Thank you! This book felt like an updated 1984. Not exactly the same premise, but big brother is defiantly a theme. I really enjoyed this book. I think you will too.Leon Durham wrote:This book sounds great, thanks to a review well done! Dystopian novels are one of my favorite genres. The first one I've read was George Orwell's 1984, and I've been in love with dystopian novels ever since.

This book has surprisingly very little angst. The main character is very mature. The book is just a glimpse of what the world would be like if certain events continue to happen. Think of it as a cautionary tale.zeldas_lullaby wrote:I've never really cared for them. They're too intense and angsty in their worldview, and this book definitely seems that way... spies everywhere, scanning your brain? However, I do like The Giver.Leon Durham wrote:This book sounds great, thanks to a review well done! Dystopian novels are one of my favorite genres. Hiya CMRingh. Thank you for the compliment. I just want to let you know that Allison Rose is the author of Tick. I am bluemel4 the one that wrote the review of Rose's excellent book.CMRingh wrote:Great Review, Allison Rose! From the sounds of it this is a very modern zeitgeist based dystopia. Maybe this series will be the next big thing, if it doesn't tap to tender of a nerve with Americans today.
