It's much more sweet than heartbreaking. :) The less-than-sweet parts are in the past, although there are some issues in the present that relate to Andi's anger issues and resentment toward her mother. In my opinion, this is handled with sensitivity and, at times, a light tone.

Thank you BookOwlie! This was a great review with detailed information on what to expect from the book, as well as insight into your own feelings and perspectives while reading it. I am now interested in learning more about Andi - her family, story, experiences, and this interesting meditation she learns about. I am also pleased that you covered information about this book as a series and enlightened readers about the specific genre this title falls under. Thanks again! :D

Jennkies, you won't be sorry, Meg is a talented author. I mean I'm an old man and I am currently enjoying her writing.

Eascapeartist, Did you start with Forever Twelve or just jump into this installment? You will enjoy either one. :)

Astute and impeccable bookowlie, I am currently reading Forever Twelve, and although I'll read just about anything, I did not even suspect I would like it as much as I do. Meg's way of capturing every day humor and fears and thoughts is very appealing. And it kind of makes me feel young again ha ha I want to dissect a frog and take it's head home with me too because now that I'm older sometimes the only thing I take home with me is the weight of the world. All around refreshing story and style :)

I also thought I wouldn't like Forever Twelve as much as I did, since it's a YA book. It was the BOTM on this site a few months ago, so I figured I'd give it a try. I become very absorbed in the story and am glad that the author decided to write more books in the series! It's refreshing to find a YA book that's not about vampires, dragons, etc.

Hahaha agreed I like my vampires without the sparklies even if they prefer listening to deathly screams instead of cultured music like Clare De Lune ;)

Cultured vampires listening to Clair de Lune, seated near burning candelabras, sharpening their fangs for a night of high-class blood sucking...

Wait. What?

Well, I am not a vampire fan, with or without sparklies. Even though Forever Twelve and Andi Makes a Wish are both YA books, the books' characters are realistic and don't have fangs or sleep in coffins.
