'In a period where humans were traded off as commodities and stripped of their dignity, Jon and Margaret chose to be anti-slavery supporters.'
I still don't understand why some humans treat their fellow humans as animals.

Filled with life lessons, today's BOTD is a YA novel that focuses on selflessness, sacrifice, and doing what's right to help make your community a place in which everyone is welcome. I think teens will enjoy this book; it would be a great addition to a classroom or home library. Thank you! :-)

This review does a great job of highlighting the emotional depth and historical significance of The Foundlings and the Fisherman from Tumby. Jon and Margaret’s resilience in the face of immense tragedy, from losing their children to being exiled, is heartbreaking yet inspiring. I appreciate how the review discusses the shift in narration style, making it clear how the first-person perspective immerses readers in Jon’s struggles while the third-person sections provide a broader view. The mention of survival techniques and the dangers of human greed adds another layer of intrigue to the story. I also find it interesting that the book includes poetic elements and illustrations, which seem to enhance both the storytelling and visual experience. Based on this review, this book sounds like a compelling mix of historical fiction, adventure, and moral lessons. Thanks for the insightful breakdown!

The Foundlings and the Fisherman from Tumby by Phillip Leighton-Daly captures the story of Jon and Margaret, once prominent abolitionists exiled to Australia, who face challenges following a shipwreck. They focus on the loss, barriers, and pink clouds of hope that followed and the unwavering strength they had to build to overcome it all.

'Official Review: The Foundlings and the Fisherman from Tumby' by Philip Leighton-Daly provides an insight into the engaging plot of the young adult story. This is the story of Jon and Margaret who were anti-slavery supporters. Certain poetic lines were excellently used in the book. The book contains valuable lessons such as the virtues of always doing good and sacrificing one's comfort for the sake of others. It also includes lessons about what to do when one is shipwrecked. Finally, the images in the book are aesthetic and illustrative!

This book talks about slavery and dignity. In it, a couple does everything possible to go against slavery, going through great challenges along the way. The reading is rich in content and form of narration, going from first to third person, without ceasing to be interesting. Good job #BOTD
