I completely agree with the rating you gave. I was reading the free sample and had trouble following what the author was trying to tell us readers. The book begins with a Christmas carol having to do with 3 ships and at some point you start reading about a family with their dog having fun at the seashore. I began to lose interest as soon as the story was being told in a difficult to understand manner.

On going through the review of Ruth's voyage of pearl of the sea, I'm having a feeling that the writer has plenty of life messages to pass across to her teeming readers. Because i can see the visisitudes of life in thorough display in the form of sea voyaging by those three characters.

Personally this book can be quite pleasing but it misses that twist or the part in the story where you just need to turn the next page and discover what happens next

But nonetheless this book is very well done

The prose and the poetry is a very nice touch and the book has a very imaginative touch to it

I only read the very short sample, but I enjoyed the creative, poetic style.

This book seems like a unique read, but after seeing the excerpt from the book I think I'll take a pass. The excerpt seemed a little too confusing for me. I sampled the book but it was difficult to comprehend the story.

Voyage of pearl of the sea is an interesting book that talk about the journey that took place on the sea and the Voyage was full of ups and downs sometimes it smooth and sometimes it was rough but in all there is a great lesson to learn and I have learnt alot

I can totally relate with the drawback raised in this review. I just finished reading the two page free sample and to be honest, I am lost.

Good review, your point of view is well justified. I´d maybe like the topic and I understand the strong suits of this book but the style isn´t for me. Thank you!

I'm pretty picky when it comes to writing styles, so from the official review and the sample pages I think I might struggle to make it through this book, given the 'stream of consciousness' style of prose. I am however intrigued by the plot and setting of this book, so might have to push through and give it a good go!

I am so grateful for your review because the sample of this was so short that I couldn’t get my bearings of what it was all about. Having notes at the back of the book would not help me reading only the beginning. I didn’t like the “bouncy” sentences. Meaning, it was like reading Dr Suess on a long winded roll. I was totally lost until I read your explanation of the book. I will definitely pass knowing it is written in more of a poetry free flow style versus told like a straight forward story. Thank you for explaining that this is a YA book as well. While I do enjoy a good YA book now and again, this one is too out there for me.

I'm really glad I read this review. You're right in that the premise immediately reminds me of something by C.S. Lewis, which of course immediately drew me to it. But writing that feels more "poetry than prose" is definitely not my thing. It's a shame because otherwise this book would have really worked for me, though I'm sure it will find an audience of readers who like the style of the prose. Thank you for the informative write-up!

Poems in nature are not straightforward. One needs to take some time to grasp the concept. Nice review there, well done.

I prefer when a book is properly defined genre wise, as poetry or prose, though aspects of other genres can be incorporated in different literature. This book didn't quite appeal to me just from the sample provided.

Literal minded and a stickler for commas, that is awesome. I did not care for the sample of this. The poetical style is not for me. The storyline did sound cute though so it's too bad.
