I want an actual teen in high school to write this book, so it could be more connecting to teens because teens are the target audience of this book. Looking back, when I was a teen, I don't listen often to what older people say, but I would listen to my peers. Nonetheless, I wondered how this would come off to a teenager.

Thank you for the review!

The topics in the book are very sensitive but even though the book aims on teenager, I think it can also be helpful to those who are experiencing the same problems. Thanks for the detailed review, I surely enjoyed reading it and I would also like to read the book. Congrats on the BOTD

Thanks for the review.
I believe also that the profanity could be avoided since it’s a book meant for teens but thanks for the insight. Seems like a really useful book.

A lot is packed into this book. I'll be recommending it to teenagers and their handlers. The subject of peer pressure, bullying, inferiority complex etc., are adequately dealt with in this book. Thanks for the review.

When one is out of teenage stage, is out of a challenging unknowing stage. This book will build teens to understand their position. Great BOTD.

The author very well understands what the teens go through. He addresses topics including, but not limited to, expectations from parents and other authority figures, body confidence, task management, thinking, and ego control.
The book is a must read for a teen and parents of the teen.
The review is superb.
Congratulations on Botd 🎉

Thank you for your honest review. I agree that profanity is usually unnecessary in getting a point across. I wonder if the author felt that this would help him "connect" with the teenage readers in an effort to relate to them. After all, college textbooks do not do so in order to communicate with their audience!

You are right in that potential readers include those from across the age spectrum and this would be an irritant rather than a major turnoff for them. Still, it sounds like it's worth exploring.

I never had teenage problems growing up. I was always indoors and kept to myself when out. However, I am aware of these struggles among many teenagers and I think it is lovely that the author considered their struggles.

This will be a great coming of age book for teens. However, I'll have to pass because I don't read non-fiction.

profanity alienates me especially when it's non fiction. However, I think Shaefer purposely used it for a particular audience with whom he might be sure his book could connect, although not all teenagers are comfortable with profanity.

While I do feel that teens are very different and go through very different things based on their circumstances, I am sure this book will be helpful. Not only to teens but also to their parents and family members. Congratulations on the book of the day!

I don't mind profanities but the context in which they are used matters the most. I am not in the age range for this book, so I will pass.
