A sci-fi book coupled with romance, grief and guilt sounds like an interesting mix. I'm glad the choppy chapter transition did not affect the overall read.

I like sci fi and romance mixed together, but this one sounds a bit predicable. Might be nice for a quick read though. Congrats on book of the day.

Yes, christinac_2585, I am completely with you there! The character of Samantha in this narrative would have appealed more to me if she was showcased as a strong female.

I like sci-fi, and the addition of Samantha dealing with the loss of her mother and brother, and her guilt brings another level to an already interesting premise. I’m interested in her father, and how he is dealing with his grief, and what all of this does to their relationship. The romance angle mixed in with all of this is interesting as well. Thanks for the review!

I would love a strong female protagonist in a story but i'm giving this one a try.. learning to be strong and finally becoming one is not bad.. good job on the review!

The idea of romance and sci-fi in one book initially drew my attention, however, after reading your honest review, I think I would not be reading this book any time soon. Thanks for the honest review.

Although I am not a fan of sci-fi, this book sounds like it has some good themes included in the story line. Survivor guilt, and the way people deal with it, is always an interesting topic as it is easy for many readers to relate to. It is a shame the chapters do not flow very well and that Sam is not portrayed as a strong character. Thanks for the review.

Sounds like a good young adult read. I agree, sometimes the female character in some books are too often the stereotypical damsel in distress, which is a shame.

Well done on your review. I definitely want to read this book! I started it just to sample and comment, but found myself captivated within the first few sentences of the book!

There are times when I'm so tired I just want to relax with a simple, non-taxing book. This book sounds like one of such books. Thanks for the informative review, I enjoyed reading it.

Sounds like a really intriguing read! Your point about wishing Sam is a stronger character is something to consider though.

This sounds like a great YA novel. The elements of the subplots of story are intriguing, i.e., death, beings from another planetary system, and the protagonist's relocation at a momentous time of her life. Although I don't care for "wilting lilies", I may give this book a try. Great review!

I love the genres of this book. This sounds like a fun read. It's a shame about the weak female protagonist but I do like fast-paced stories. Thanks for the great review!
