I truly did love this book. The way that the author portrayed the characters through Mia's perspective is what I believe made the book good. It helped to imagine yourself as Mia, and connect with her. Which is one of the most important things that a book should be comprised of. The story overall too was good.

when I first picked this book up it said twilight fans would like it, I did buy it but didn't get to it right away when I eventually decided to read it I went into it thinking I was not going to like it but I actually did rather enjoy this book the struggle for her to decide what would be easier to just let go or stay is something that pulls you in wanting to know what is it that she will choose. totally liked it!

I am honestly glad to hear that you liked the book. Having the audience coherent that Mia has to make a choice is what also made me continue reading. The second book in the series, Where She Went, is also good. The second book is a lot slower, but it is interesting because it takes place a few years after the accident, and you get to see where Mia ends up at, along with her boyfriend from the first book. The second book is told from the boyfriends perspective a lot. Which is interesting because you get more of a sense of his character.

I was the same way about starting! A friend recommened it to me, someone who I usually don't have the same taste in books with, but soon enough I was in to it. As soon as I finished the first, I had to go find the second one so I could see what happened! I recommend it as well!

I've read this book before, and I have to agree that it is quite a good book.
What was the most interesting about this book was probably the Point Of View of the storyline. It's Mia's point of view, but presented in a really unique way. I also like how 'connected' the characters are in this book. They all had good relationships with each other (most of them? I don't really remember, read it quite long ago) and how they supported each other just.. helped to set the mood of the book.

Normally, I don't really listen to audiobooks, but I had some eye issues recently, so I physically couldn't read. So...unless I wanted to just lie around, I decided to give a couple of audiobooks a listen, and this was my first one (borrowed from the library). I loved it! It captured my attention right from the beginning and wanting to know her decision definitely held my interest even more! Personally, I liked the female voice who read the story, which helped a lot.

The reason I mentioned the voice is because I am trying to listen to the audiobook for the second book, but I don't really like the guy's voice. I might have to switch to book form since now I can read!

when i read the book i was surprised that i liked it. i did not think that the cover had anything to do with the title and the title threw me off. it threw me off because i was trying to think of what it might mean but i could not. i think that is what got me to read the book. i got to say the book was great and the story line was very well done. the characters were a refresh (since i had just finished another book that had bad characters), they were very well placed and used throughout the book. this book is one that everyone should read!

This book held me captive. While I read this a few years back, I still recall hanging on every word waiting to learn the characters fates. The film based off of this movie did not hold my focus as much. I highly recommend this book. The story was original and the writing kept me flipping pages as fast as I could read them. Head my warning though, it can be an emotional ride.

I have yet to read the book but I've seen the movie awhile ago and maybe it's just me but i think the movie was overrated because i really can't see what the hype was about.

I'm on the fence on if I want to read this book or not. A lot of people told me that it wasn't nearly as good as the fault in our stars. If i do read it I want to get a hard copy with a hard cover instead of using kindle. But I don't want to spend so much if I don't like the book. Should I just get it??? :eusa-think: ??

The book isn't anything like The Fault in Our Stars, and I believe that is what made the book stand out more to me. But if your liking of books is more geared towards that of The Fault in Our Stars, there may be a 50-50 chance that you would like it.

I agree, this books stands out from the stack ya novels with sappy romances between a bad boy and shy girl. Mia's family was described so richly and in such great detail I became attached to them, which was just the author's intention. All the characters were perfectly portrayed. Even the plot line of being 1/2 dead 1/2 alive is largely overused, which was why I was hesitant to read it. Luckily I did, the writing was superb, I couldn't imagine a negative review for If I Stay.

I loved If I Stay. Honestly, it and its sequel Where She Went are some of my favorite books since it beautifully discusses love, loss and strength.

I read and really enjoyed this duology! I'm planning to watch the movie because I STILL haven't, which is a shame.
My weekend is all booked!

I picked this book up when it was all the hype. I heard people talking about it and then found out it was becoming a movie so natural I read it. I felt as if I was reading the wrong book. This is actually one that I prefer the movie over the book. I liked it, I just didn't love it.
