It would be fun to be alone with your bestfriend in some exotic location, wouldn't it? But what if you find yourself alone with your bestfriend in the middle of a deserted island? And to make everything worse what if you realise that you have no memory as to how you got there? This adventures of two bestfriends has been narrated in Caleb J. Boyer's ISLAND GAMES: Mystery Of The Four Quadrants.
The story follows Matthew and Ryan as they find themselves stranded in the middle of a deserted island. They are left only with their clothes. They seem to have lost their memories and in this tough circumstances they have only themselves to gather resources for survival and also find a way to escape from the island. They face the brutal weather conditions of the island and yet, they are on the search of escape routes. Eventually, they find an old water vessel but in order to get to the vessel, they will have to face shark which is the first of the many challenges they face throughout the story.
As you continue reading the book, you realise that they have been set up in the island by someone and they are made to face several challenges on overcoming each challenge they were given food and water.
How will they escape from the island? Who set them up in the island?
I found this book to be very interesting and exciting. There are a lot of twists and turns in the plot. The suspense level continues to go higher as you proceed further into the story. Both Matthew and Ryan have strong personalities and also they have a lot of determination. As the story progresses, we see that their bonding grows stronger and they are a source of motivation to the readers.
What i liked the most is that the book has a lot of lessons for the readers. For example the writer emphasises a lot on the importance of teamwork. Since the main theme of the story is friendship, the message of teamwork is well incorporated into the story. Given that the target audience of the book is young adults, these messages are very useful and is a plus point for the book. I'll rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
The book has nothing to dislike in it. I felt like the story is a combination of the movies cast away and the hunger games. I didn't find any error in the book. I'll suggest this book to young adults. Fans of survival stories should also read this book. This was really a fun read. The writer has done a brilliant job and I'm sure you'll not be disappointed.
