The Crystilleries of Echoland is a fantasy novel written by Dew Pellucid, a pseudonym for Tal Boldo. In a classic good vs. evil tale, our main character, Will Cleary, is engaged in a fight for his life. Will Cleary is one of thousands of children to have simply vanished. However, he is the only one to return, leaving behind his twin and bringing his new pets, a wolf and a falcon. Suddenly the mysterious concept of echos and sounds are presented to him in an astonishing way. Will is soon transformed into a new person, disguising his true identity. He was taken to a safe place, where he now works to save the echo realm and dethrone the false king. Will Cleary works alongside his echo counterpart and his new friend Peter, searching for a solution and defying all odds.

Searching through the library and evading the evil Fortune Sealers, Will and his friends search to find the missing piece that will allow the Prince to take back the throne. This will also allow Will and his sister to find their way home. But until they find the missing piece, they are stuck in the Echo Realm working to get the answers.

I rate The Cyrstilleries of Echoland 4 out of 4 stars. It is a captivating novel entering a fantasy world with translucent people and environments. The plot was engaging and easy to follow. The part I liked most was the wonderful way the author described the characters in such detail, bringing each of them to life. Dew Pellucid is a wonderful writer who continuously engages the reader in the story with his writing style.

While the description of the book states that it is written for young adults, it seems as if it was written for a slightly younger audience. I would recommend this book to children that are ten to thirteen. Disliked most was the lack of the complex sentence structure. I would not recommend the book to anyone who desires a book that is grammatically complex. However, since this is more of personal preference, it does not seem a big enough problem to drop a star from the rating.

The reason I gave the novel a 4 and not a 3 is because although there are a few issues within the text, it is overshadowed by the excellent storytelling presented. Not only did I clearly see the characters and activities, I felt as if I was part of the story. The author did a great job making the story and characters wrap around you, enveloping you into the mystical world presented.

Wow, I just like the novel...am looking forward to reading it all..

I noticed the same thing about the very simple writing. It really put me off, and I haven't finished the book yet. It's a great story, but the reading experience is not so fun. Thanks for a great review!
