Review by kperm -- Island Games by Caleb J. Boyer
Do you like adventure? Do you enjoy reading books that are full of mysteries and keep you on your toes? This book might be what you are looking for. Island Games is a fascinating and breathtaking book written by Caleb J. Boyer. The book tells the story of two friends that wake up on the shore of an island. They don't remember how they got on the island, and they don't have any memories about their past. What challenges will the boys face in their adventure? Will they find their way out?
The main characters of the book are two young boys, Matthew and Ryan. Ryan has a dark complexion and dark wavy hair. On the other hand, Matthew has fair skin and blonde hair. He is shorter than Ryan and has lots of freckles. When the boys wake up on the island, they don't remember their past, their families, and their homes. They only remember each other. Soon they realize that they don't have food, water, and shelter. They make their main goal to survive and find their way out of this island. Along their journey, the friends face countless challenges and mysteries.
Caleb J. Boyer did an outstanding job with this book. Even though he was only twelve years old when he wrote Island Games, this book was one of the most thrilling and well-developed adventure books that I have ever read. Boyer is an international bestselling author with an amazing backstory. He started reading books when he was four years old. By the age of ten, he wanted to write his own book where he could include things that he thought were missing from the other books. The result was his first novel, Island Games.
There are many things that I liked about Island Games. One of them is the message that the book delivers to its readers. The novel teaches companionship and friendship. There were countless situations in which the main characters had to work together as a team in order to survive. Caleb J. Boyer found his inspiration for this book from the difficulties and obstacles that people face in various life circumstances. His novel shows the readers that "it's not really about what life throws your way because bad things can happen and, oftentimes, to really good people. It's really about how you face those challenges." I liked that the book has many unexpected plot twists and mysteries that keep the reader hooked to the book. There wasn't anything that I disliked about the novel.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book was very well-written and professionally edited. The storyline is breathtaking, and I couldn't stop reading the book. It is one of my favorite books, and I recommend it to everyone. I believe that this book is perfect for readers that enjoy adventure and mysteries. Island Games is an amazing book for readers of all ages.
