Character development is such an important aspect in any great book and I'm glad, this author ticks it off. I agree with the statement that 'PTSD symptoms and society’s tendency to victim-blame is extremely realistic' and it's really good to see a book out there, addressing these issues. Thank you for this honest and beautiful review!

These are very important topics to address, even if they're uncomfortable, in order to change society's attitude towards abuse survivors.
Thank you very much for your kind words. :tiphat:

First of all, your review is impeccable as usual. And I must applaud authors who use their pen to expose sensitive and very important issues plaguing the girl child. Well done

It has some parts that are extremely painful to read, but it's a splendid book. Thanks for stopping by!

Our foster care system does seem to help many and I commend all families that take foster kids in. There are truly some horrific circumstances that are just heartbreaking. I don't believe my emotions can handle reading this.
Great review!
Lisa

My greatest accomplishment is that I raised two daughters that love to read.

I don't know, but I feel I will be fed up with Jess' character. Am willing to give it a try though. Thanks for the review.

Great review!
I totally understand. Some topics are unbearably horrific, and child abuse is one. The foster parents who truly do the job with love are heroes to me. Thank you for your insightful and honest comment.
