Hammer of the Gods by RK Wheeler where mythologies and religion become one.

Heaven weeps the tales do tell, For the youngest son Azazyel
He who found forbidden love, And thereby angered God above
Son of Light, Archangel, Forbidden secrets he did tell Buried alone and in pain, Buried by his brothers twain

This is one of the poems from the chapter of the book, in every chapter it begins with a poem. And I find this poem an important part of the story, for this is where the story centers its attention, on the youngest son of the morning.

The book is amazing, from the very first poem that introduced the first chapter that spoke about "dragons and gods" and that the fabled hammer of the god of thunder Mjolnir was actually first wielded and owned by an archangel, this really got me very excited to read. It’s like Game of Thrones all over again. It spoke a lot about myths and gods and angels, lore’s and prophecies, and amazingly, that Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades are not just gods of the old world but, are part of the 12 archangels, yes 12, not 7.

The book opens with Odin and his sons Loki and Thor who were only 15 years of age, speaking of the passage of becoming a man. This is where Odin gave his sons their weapons and introduced Thor to Mjolnir, and also failed to wield the hammer at first try like his friend Capt. America. but don’t expect him to be in the book. Going back, Thor was not able to lift the Hammer and Loki also tried and failed.

The book talks about the sons of God, how they changed as they stayed in the human world, that they were enticed by the daughters of man. And one of them was Azazyel the youngest archangel, who fell in love with a mortal and shared secrets of heaven with her and as punishment for his disobedience to God, he was imprisoned by his brothers. When the great flood occurred the lands were changed and they could no longer locate the prison that held Azazyel. It was prophesied that only the line of Azazyel will be able to find his prison. And the book also talked about the battle between good and evil. So, Gabriel wanted to see if his brother Azazyel has repented and if he would join them in the battle against Satanel the morning star. The adventure begins with the descendants of Azazyel his great-grandchildren Angelica And Jonah accompanied and protected by the angel Gabriel. And as their adventure grows so does their number, they would be joined by shapeshifters, a gnome, a dwarf, a fairy, and another archangel. They would begin their journey in Alaska in a town called Nome to retrieve the staff of Moses and this will prove a great test to their abilities as they move on to reach, Avalaon or more commonly known as the Garden of Eden, where they will witness the fall of Thor against a great dragon and his brother Loki. And as the seals break Lucifer and his horde of Nephilim demons gather and with his generals, Diablo, Mephisto, Beezlebub, and Asmodius they prepare for the rise of the dragons and to battle the forces of God.

I enjoyed the book it was well researched the author used passages from the older versions of the bible before it became the King James Version. And the way he talked about the myth of the gods. Making them angels and that they were all descended from God the Father and that all other creatures of the night were actually beings of light descended from angels, well except for vampires they really are creatures of the night well not because they burn when they get hit by sunlight they were truly born from the darkness you'll know if you read the book. I love that view, his perception of the mythology, and the lores.

Great read! 4 out of 4

I recommend this book to everyone no matter what religion you believe in, it's a great read. Especially to supernatural fanatics out there.
