Review of The Crystilleries of Echoland
The Crystilleries of Echoland written by Dew Pelucid, is a thrilling and captivating story where children have disappeared and continue to do so, with only one child reappearing. A boy, William Clearly. But where is his twin sister? William is bent on solving this mystery and bringing happiness back to his family. He is transported into another world and finds that things are not as they appear to be. He along with his protectors and newly found friends encounter magic, creatures and a Prince, who unknowingly is linked to him. It is where Sound and Echo must come together to overcome the challenges put forward to them by Fate Sealers and Fortune Tellers, in a fight for their lives to restore a Kingdom and a family.
Dew Pelucid has been able to create such an immensely descriptive book from start to finish, that it will transport its young and not so young readers’ imaginations into an unknown quest of mystery, magic and wonder. The plot of this book has you on the edge of your seat in suspense wanting more.
This 4 out 4 stars book captured my attention from the very beginning, carrying me on this mystical journey through Echoland, with its every depiction and mind swirling action.
Dew’s creative writing style allowed the reader to stay in the moment, embodying the main character’s emotional state, making each chapter flow smoothly one into the other. There were times however, when re-reading the previous chapter was necessary to clarify the reason why certain details are as they are. For instance, reading Chapter 3 where Déa was explaining about Sounds and Echoes, I found myself needing to re-read Chapter 2 to understand how Déa and Damian came to be the beings that they were.
The Crystilleries of Echoland is a clean book of fast paced action, suspense and mystery that will surely create excitement in the minds of its young readers. For lovers of mystery, science fiction and magic they will surely find this book exciting.
