Review of A Bloody Book
A Bloody Book by Chris Bowen is a young adult fiction book that tells the story of a 13-year-old teenager, who at a very young age he has experienced difficult times in his life. This book is written from the point of view of the main protagonist, namely Maxx.
While the author has warned the readers to be patient about where is the story states that this book is a bloody story, yes, it really does require patience. The bloody plot twist in this book is placed last by the author.
In this book, Maxx was given the assignment to write from his teacher in Reading Hell's class, so he had to recall the most important experiences in his life. The readers are transported to Maxx's past when he was in kindergarten and when he was 9 years old. Maxx and his sister have not received the proper love from their mother and their father has passed away. Her mother thinks hugging her children was a waste of time, so it was just a dream for Maxx.
What I love most about this book are the messages which are very deep for everyone in general, not just teenagers. The messages contained in it can be intended for teachers and parents. Because basically, the important factors of teachers and parents can shape the personality of children from childhood. Every day, of course, the children's activity is to meet their parents and teachers at their school. They imitate the behavior of adults, of course, from their own parents at home and their teachers at school. I really like the principle of Maxx's teacher to never bully children who still make mistakes, because we are all still in the process of learning to be better every day.
Nothing I dislike about this book. Although this book has a length of only around 163 pages, the content of the story is very dense and great. The author can bring this story which is actually very dark in a light way and easy to understand. The language used is not complex, and the problems in this book are not too complicated. There are also not too many plot twists.
There are some minor typographical errors in this book. I also found a lot of informal words used in this book, which are supposed to be used in everyday conversation but are used in the main character's own mind. Not so fatal, so I can still give a 4 out of 4 stars for this book. I recommend this book to young adults and parents with children, as well as teachers.
