Joe Massa dedicates My Heart To Yours to his kids, Luke and Mya, in case he is no more someday. The author shares some life lessons he believes would come in handy to his children as they grow. Life is unpredictable and full of surprises. Today you could be playing with your children and the next you are not with them anymore.

Joe shares many lessons he wants Luke and Mya to know. One is about respecting everybody irrespective of age difference, race, or religion. No matter how different someone looks, always be respectful. Another lesson is being humble. One should treat a janitor with the same respect you address a CEO. One that resonates with the contemporary era is making your body a priority. We should eat healthy foods, exercise, and maintain good hygiene, among others.

I liked the many valuable lessons in the installment. I learned the difference between good manners and etiquette. I often thought the two were the same thing. Being good-mannered is when you utter: thank you, sorry, and excuse yourself while in a social setting. Etiquette, I learned, is like arriving on time when a person expects you. Having good manners and practicing etiquette is vital in modern life because no matter where in the world you are, the two go a long way.

Nevertheless, there are a few words with which I disagreed. The author asks, “Have you ever eaten food that someone else made that was really not very tasty?” He then goes ahead and advises his kids to lie and say the dish was delicious if they’re asked. He further explains that a little white lie is acceptable. In my opinion, I’d prefer to be told the truth had I been the cook. That way, I can identify methods in which I can improve my cooking. That is the aspect I disliked.

It’s been some time since I read a book dedicated to one’s children. One thing I admit is the author loves his children unconditionally. The words written in the book are full of wisdom and care. I can mention a hundred more things why I enjoyed this work. Therefore, I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I liked how Joe Massa expounded his points to suit young readers. There were no grammatical errors. My Heart To Yours is professionally edited. I recommend it to teenagers because taking a journey with this book will shape their world of communication and ethics.

I agree with you on telling the truth in the case of the cook, I won't like a case whereby I serve someone food and it's not tasteful and then I am told a lie in order for the person not to sound rude.
I would love to be told the truth, so that I will change and improve on whatever I did and become better.
Overall, the book will be helpful to young adults as it teaches etiquettes and morals as one goes through life.
Thanks for the review.

Nice of the author to leave his children life lessons. Everyone has a view. The author feels it's important to pamper people's feelings, and that's quite valid but controversial. Great review.

I love the fact joe wants to be there for his children even when he’s no longer available, and in this book which he dedicated to his children there are a lot of valuable lessons to be learnt.I learnt that a thank you and sorry can go along way for some people, though I do not agree with the lying at times people are meant to be told the truth so as to improve on their self…All in all it’s a very good book

I love how the author dedicated a whole book for his children in case he wasn't there to teach them good-manners and etiquette. This review was well done and made me look forward to read the book.

I like how the author thought of leaving such valuable asset to his children. Also showing them the way of life. The only problem I had is being advised to lie in order not to make the cook feel bad. It’s better to be told the truth so that one can make corrections
