Everyone I know thinks Divergent is like The Hunger Games. I disagree with this statement. They are both Sci-fi/fantasy books but they have 2 different stories. The Hunger Games is more unrealistic. Divergent, on the other hand, is more likely to happen. Please comment here. I would love to here your thoughts. Thanks for reading!!!! :D

I personally feel that neither book is very real to life or likely to happen. The hunger games would never be allowed to go on that long before everyone in all of the areas rebelled. In Divergent, it is not likely that people would fit so easily into different groups without more trouble that even the book portrays and I'm sorry but what is the likelihood of anyone surviving some of the things she does in that book?
Not saying I didn't like the books, because I did, I liked them a lot. Just saying if your comparing believably in real life, neither one holds much truth

What i meant to say if one of these books were true it would more likely be divergent.

I believe that Divergent is not thing like The Hunger Games. People are comparing EVERY single book series to the hunger games lately!! It's driving me INSANE!! This goes to show that people are totally missing the point of the books. I don't see people fighting to the death in an arena after being reaped publicly in Divergent. If Divergent is like anything, it's similar to Maze Runner. *spoiler* because they're being tested, sort of. But in Hunger Games, they aren't being tested at all; the whole point of it is for entertainment. That's a HUGE difference. I wish other people could see that.

I can see the comparison between Divergent and the Maze Runner. The only common threads between Divergent and The Hunger Games are the dystopian societies and the female protagonists. If I were to compare The Hunger Games to any other novel, it would be Stephen King's The Running Man, for the reality television aspect. The important thing in both novels is the social commentary on our disgusting desire to watch the suffering of others for entertainment, which also reminds me of Roman Gladiators. But, regardless of how easily the comparisons come, The Hunger Games is a fantastic book with three-dimensional, moving characters and it doesn't have a lot of equals.
