The Lake Trilogy - AnnaLisa Grant

Post by ajmiller99 »

I have just begun reading the 3rd book in this series:

The Lake Trilogy
#1 The Lake
#2 Troubled Waters
#3 Safe Harbor

These books are classified as young adult, romance, and mystery.

This author has just begun her writing career (2008) and has published around 6 books to my knowledge. There are some very good story lines here and would recommend it as a good read for young adults.

Even though I have enjoyed them, I recognize that they could use some more development. I would like them to be more descriptive about characters and places and they can be somewhat predictable. In places it feels as if she is building up to something spectacular and then it fizzles out a little or doesn't meet my expectations. For instance, without giving anything away, when reading the first book, take into consideration how much time Will has spent working in the basement.

I consider a book to be amazing when I can't put it down and will stay up all hours of the night unable to leave off at the end of a chapter. I'll admit, I've set this one down for a few days at a time.

Has anyone else read this series? I would especially like to hear your views on Marcus! Do you think things are a little too perfect between Luke and Claire?
