Landline by Rainbow Rowell SPOILERS

Post by lovablegeek123 »

So this was my first Rainbow Rowell novel and I HATED EVERY SINGLE WORD OF IT!!!

The protagonist Georgie is her own worst enemy. She works all the time, never pays attention to her children and ignores her husband.

I specifically hate the best friend of Georgie. He, I believe, is the worst for showing Georgie the flaws in the relationship of her and her husband.

And so then, she makes a phonecall from a landline that somehow links her to her husband shortly before they were even engaged.

That's all fine and dandy but it doesn't make her realize that SHE is the problem and that SHE is putting her work before her family and being bullied by the best friend. So instead of fixing her current relationship she's fixing the one from 15+ years ago.

Just everything about this novel makes me mad.

If you want to read it go ahead but I just didn't like it.

I am so sorry to hear that you didn't like the novel. I was planning on reading it, I hope it isn't really bad!
Even though your first experience with Rainbow Rowell, I suggest that you read Eleanor and Park, because that one is truly a good novel, and maybe you will enjoy it more than Landline.
