On this thrilling adventure, you come across two young gentlemen who lost their memories. Matthew and Ryan wake up on an island knowing who they each are and that they are best friends. Unfortunately, they have no recollection of how they got there. Without having any memories to go on except for the knowledge that they know each other; the boys decide to stick together and figure out a way off the island. Matthew and Ryan soon realize they will have obstacles to get beyond if they want to survive.

The bantering between Matthew and Ryan showed that even though they were stuck without a way off the island, they would keep their wits about them. This story also shows how far someone can go with teamwork and determination. Without being a team, they would not have been able to get through many of the challenges alone. With so many challenges, it put into perspective how strong their friendship truly was. Can you imagine trying to get off an island by yourself? Or, with someone who you do not know? Having to build a relationship with someone you do not know can be exceedingly difficult to survive.

I honestly loved reading Island Games: Mystery of the Four Quadrants. I was completely shocked when I saw this was written by a 12-year-old boy. Caleb J. Boyer did a magnificent job writing and creating this story. It reminded me a lot of the Maze Runner series. Which I also loved reading. There was not a terrible thing about this book.

I truly hope this young author writes a second book with these characters telling what happens after. There were so many cliffhangers that just made me want to continue reading to see what happens with Matthew and Ryan. I would recommend this book to any school-age child. My nine-year-old said he would have loved to read it when I told him about the book.

I give Island Games: Mystery of the Four Quadrants a 4 out of 4 stars.I am giving this book a 4 out of 4 stars because this story was exceptionally written, and I loved reading the trials Matthew and Ryan had to go through. I was sitting on the edge of my seat. I could not wait to see how they overcame each task that was thrown their way. Then the ending!! Was not expecting that at all. Truly was a great read for me and I would recommend this book to any child that loves a good mystery and is a thrill seeker.
