White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout (May have spoilers)

White Hot Kiss is the first book in The Dark Elements series. It's about a girl named Layla who is half demon, half gargoyle. She has a crush on her best friend Zayne, who treats her like a sister. Zayne is a Warden, part of the gargoyle race who hunts demons to keep humanity safe. Layla' has abilities no one has and her kiss will kill anyone with a soul, including him. Then she meets Roth, the hot, tattooed demon. She knows she should stay away from him, because trusting Roth means she could ruin her chances with Zayne and become a traitor to the Warden family that adopted her, but it's hard to when the no-kissing thing isn't in the way. But kissing a demon is the least of her worries when she finds out that she's the reason for a demon uprising.
This book was amazing like I expected. Jennifer L. Armentrout definitely knows how to write swoon-worthy guys and a plot that draws you in from the start. Zayne is the hot blonde Warden who knows everything about Layla and trusts her completely. But Roth is the dark haired, bad boy type demon who understands Layla in ways no one else can. Layla is trailing a demon when Roth makes his appearance, and Zayne comes in when she gets home from tagging demons (one of her abilities). After meeting the guys and understanding Layla's abilities, I was pretty much hooked. The writing style is great, and Jennifer throws in a plot twist you never see coming and a cliffhanger that makes you want more.
