You remember Romeo and Juliet, right? Of course you do, I'm sure you were forced to write an essay about it in middle school as well. And while most question the three day romance ending in a double suicide, I had a different question. What happened in Verona after this love fest imploded? Thankfully I didn't have to wonder for long. In Melinda Taub's novel Still Star Crossed she continues the story Shakespeare started so long ago. The epic battle of Montague vs. Capulet failed to end with Romeo and Juliet. Told alternating from the perspective of Rosaline and Benvolio, this unlikely duo is tasked with ending the centuries old war. Unlike Romeo and Juliet it wasn't love at first sight for these two, more like hate at first sight. But when the Prince arranges their marriage to unite the two families, who can blame them for being uninterested. Instead of falling into a loveless marriage the two strive to bring peace without their saying "I do". Easier said than done. This fast paced novel will transport you to the city of Verona, leaving you captivated by the romance and adventure that lurks behind ever closed door.
