Review of Island Games
Caleb. J boyer's novel Island Games is a mysterious and exciting story. When Ryan and Mathew awoke, they were stranded alone on an unknown island. They had no idea how they had ended up there. All they remembered were snippets of their past and their friendship. They have no recollection of their parents or their previous lives. They attempt to escape the island by overcoming the obstacles, completely unaware of the sudden situation. To leave the island, they must travel through four different and dangerous quadrants. Within 23 chapters, the characters have to struggle and fight for their basic survival needs. Where is this island located? Will they manage to escape? Is there someone behind all of this? Many more twists and adventures are waiting for the readers in the remaining story.
Despite the author's age when he wrote this story, the story is extremely well written and appears professional. I admired the author's talent and effort in creating this story. There were no dull scenes in the story from the beginning. The challenges that the main characters face are thrilling and tense. I also admire how this story can be both intimidating and intriguing with only two characters. The adventures they face, their bonding, and the experiences they learn from their struggles are all lessons for the readers. At the end, the author provided an explanation for the motivation for writing this story, which summarised the theme. It is admirable that the author's ideas were mature at the tender age of twelve. The author's description of the situation and the obstacles they encountered along the way was precise and clear. The story is simple to follow and comprehend. There are no typos or grammatical errors. It was professionally and properly edited. The plot is simple, two boys stranded alone on an island, but the meaning behind everything that happens astounded me while reading the author's message at the end. Their depth of friendship and trust is admirable. The story is filled with humour, adventure, love, friendship, and mystery, making it a complete package of emotions and adventure.
There are no significant flaws in this book. The plot moves quickly, which I enjoyed. As problems arose, they would always end quickly before another problem arose. However, this would not be favourable for every reader. The cliff hanger and some mysteries left unanswered, like age throughout the end, is a bit disappointing.
I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars. In this book, I adore the characters, their friendship, the depth, the narrative, the author's message through the story, and the adventure. It made my reading time worthwhile and valuable. Because there aren't any major issues worth reducing any stars, I rate this 4 stars.
Anyone who enjoys adventure, mystery, and fast-paced novels should read this book. The characters will frequently encounter adventures and problems one after the other. Those who enjoy this type of book should try this one. This book also ends on a cliff hanger, so those who dislike cliff hangers will avoid it. Children over the age of twelve who understand the adventurous and mysterious genre will enjoy it. This book will teach them a lot.

I thought the same as well, this is a very common storyline, would be interesting to see the author's fresh take on this tried and trusted plotline. The idea of having to fight for your own survival is sure to make for an interesting read. Thanks for the great review.Phooko Tebogo PC wrote: ↑09 Dec 2022, 22:11 The title of the book made me recall the "Alice in borderland series", the storyline of the book is the same as it.
