“Here’s a good way to figure out if something’s real: Ask yourself, ‘Does this suck?’ and if the answer’s yes, then it’s probably real.”

Wow, wow, wow.

This book was pretty amazing, from start to finish.

It opens up with the main character, Sarah, getting her skull drilled into, and that’s pretty much what I as a horror / thriller lover, love. She is undergoing a procedure that removes bad memories from her brain, which sounds great to me in theory, but after reading the complete book, I may have changed my mind.

Sarah is unsure that her name is even truly Sarah, she has no idea where she is except for the fact that she is in a “hospital” trying to “get better”. She doesn’t remember anything from her life before the hospital, but unfortunately, she has enemies that do.

The hospital is invaded by said enemies, and Sarah has to struggle to escape both from these intruders as well as other slightly less sane patients that are no longer locked in their rooms. Of course, she has a bit of help when she meets Pierce.

Sarah and Pierce, in my opinion, are two of the greatest characters that I’ve read about lately. They are incredibly smart, hilarious, and so likable that I was speed reading to find out what happened to them.

Pierce helps Sarah find out more about her past, while the two of them help each other survive the craziness that they’ve found themselves in.

This book is highly entertaining- I was never bored. It’s full of suspense and mystery surrounding Sarah and Pierce, and it keeps you guessing the entire time. How do Pierce and Sarah’s pasts intertwine? And more importantly, what will their future be? Will they survive to have a future at all?

Can’t say enough good things about the book. It was amazing.
