The Body Finder - Kimberly Derting

Post by ace13 »

My friend gave me "The Body Finder" as a Christmas gift. I read the first three chapters and then reluctantly set it on my shelf when my winter break ended. Months came and went, until one day during my spring break, I picked it up again. And my god, am I glad I did.

"The Body Finder" is definitely in my list of can't-stop-reading-until-i'm-done books. I was so enthralled with the situation Derting created for her main character, Violet. It was stereotypical, and it wasn't. The stereotypical-ness came from the whole concept of Violet being in love with her totally amazing best dude friend, Jay. BUT, their relationship was so well written and entrancing that it was impossible to look down on it for being run of the mill. Violet herself is pretty amazing as well. She senses the echoes on murdered bodies, animals and people alike. But she can also sense the echoes of the murder on their killers, which leads her to do the noble thing and try and stop murderers.

All in all, this book was a pristine paranormal thriller with an unforgettable romance. Five out of five stars from me.
