It’s difficult to think of children/teenagers living without access to food and basic necessities. This seems like a valuable book with important lessons for young people.

This is an interesting theme, if we are privileged to have something we don't deserve, we should always be grateful because life as it is, is unfair to some people. I admire the resilience and determination exhibited by Aiyasha in protecting and caring for other orphans at that age.

:oops2: As a victim of emotional abuse in my family, I found it extremely difficult and even detestable to crack the binding, so to speak. Dumb was what my maternal grandfather always called me because I was 70 years younger and more adept to the current society. Christ like behavior does not emulate that as reason or discourse & I did witness his death. Those haunting words only arise when stated. 2 out 5 stars

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting young adult fiction about an orphan that must take responsibility for other orphans in an environment where that is not easy to do. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

Thank you for your review. I read the short sample on Amazon and I loved it. Adults and children alike will enjoy this story. I will certainly read it and do a reading session with younger children. A truly inspiring story that will have you in tears as the orphans face their challenges.

Dumb" Orphans" by Allan Low sounds like a simple story, but it offers a great lesson on achieving success through resilience and persistence.

It's great to hear of the resilience of the kids in this story. I agree it would be great for schools to have this available to promote the great message to teens. Thanks for a great review!

I think that social power or social position does not equate to how many successes you could achieve in your life. It is based on your determination, your hard work, and your pure heart. Although privileged people would still have a lot of opportunities, we still shall not forget that we still have an opportunity, even if it is relatively small.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review!

The premise of this children's and young adult book sounds truly inspiring. Orphaned children overcoming the negative circumstances through determination and belief in themselves brings readers hope. Great review!

Being an orphan is one of the most difficult things in life, as you never know if you will find someone that will care about you someday. Being an orphan in Africa is even harder. This is a sensitive book that needs to be read by many people.

I agree with the author's idea that there's usually a way out of a bad situation. We all hope for a brighter future amid a devastating condition. I would love to follow through the story and find out more about Aiyeesha and how she managed to take care of the seven orphans without adequate supply of material things. I will read the book.

Being labelled dumb as a young child and still bearing the pain of being an orphan is something quite painful especially being called names by children or your mates because they have necessities better than you do.
