I'm writing a review for "The Crystilleries of Echoland" by Dew Pullucid.
I give this book 5 stars out of 5.
I think it deserves four stars because the detailing was beautiful, it really made me feel like I was there. I could hear the air whirring by my ear as an arrow soared by, and I could feel the bitter cold nights. The characters were described in such a way I felt like I was reading about people I knew. I also appreciated the short, easy chapters, the exciting, fast paced storyline and the interesting, unique read.
I would recommend this book to any young fantasy lover, or anyone who really got into series such as Harry Potter.
The storyline is unique and new, and takes you on an incredibly well described adventure.
This book kind of tosses you into adventure right in the beginning, which I love. There is none of the usual slow introductory to characters or new worlds.
Will and his twin, Emma are two years old when they go missing. Will comes back, mysteriously, with no memories of where he has been. Emma does not come back.
We start to learn about Echoland, a realm that exists beneath our own. Echo land people are different than "us" but share a deep connection with "us".
Will goes on to learn about his Echo, who's a prince to the recently murdered king. He decides to risk his life to cross over to help his Echo and to search for his sister, Emma. He stays undercover at an orphanage where he has to avoid Fate Sealers and other enemies.
Finally, him, his sister, Peter and the Prince work hard to find out the truth about the king's murder.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. I appreciated that it was written in such a way both me, at 27 years old and my 11 year old nephew were both sucked into the story.
