Lola and the Boy Next Door

"Lola and the Boy Next Door" by Stephanie Perkins is a beautiful, easy, comfort read I will always come back to.
Lola is an aspiring designer, in love with wearing costumes and wigs everyday. Her fathers disapprove of her boyfriend Max, a 22 year old in a rock band. Suddenly her old neighbors move back in, Cricket- the boy who broke her heart, and Calliope- a Olympic-medalling beauty queen. Then Lola begins to fall for Cricket. Will she love Cricket, or disobey her parents by staying with Max?
This book is such a quick and easy read that is hard not to like. Cricket is so cute and sweet. Lola is easy to understand on the basis of her fling herself as a teen. Not everyone dresses up each day, but everyone has some weird teenage fetish. I loved that EtÃenne and Anna were active parts of the book too. Though the books aren't the most deep or thoughtful, they are the perfect pick-me-up, fluffy, cheesy contemporary!
