The first thing I was told about the book was that it ran slow. I have to agree with this comment. While yes there are moments where the plot seemingly plateaus, it's all for good reason. It explains the life these young boys face inside the glade. The book is chalked full of suspense and action scenes which really drew me in and I can't wait to go buy buy the rest of the series.
