Well, what can I say about a book written about a former Playboy bunny and her turn to momhood? Did I expect much? No. Was I suprised? A little. Did I find it entertaining? Absolutely. I mean, let's be honest here; it is no award winning book. But, it held my attention long enough for me to finish it in two sittings. It helps that the author, Holly Madison, was the narrator and wasn't some monotone alien that tends to bore the heck out of me. Some parts I was surprised to hear (curfews at 9pm?!) and some I expected (sex, sex, sex). It gave a different side to some of the people I thought were better than how she portrayed them. Nevertheless, I did actually like the book, but unless you like frivolous literature written about, well, nothing relevent in life, I wouldn't recommend this book to just anyone.

I am reading/listening to this book right now and I wasn't sure if I would eventually get bored with it. But, surprisingly enough, I'm not bored at all. I like it!! I am let down at how much Hef seems so abusive (not physically). I watched some of the show (The Girls Next Door) and he didn't seem like that kind of person. But when Holly goes into detail and explains how thing "really went down" and how certain events on the show were incorrectly sequenced compared to the real life happenings, I guess I'm not in shock too much. This would explain why so many girls were in and out of the house and "replaced" so often as roommates. Kind of sad, really. I'm actually surprised Holly was able to stick it out so long in the mansion being that she wasn't always treated (or spoken to) very well at all! Overall, I am happy I got this book....I have about 1/3 left.
