Overall, this book is very poorly written. There were many spelling and grammatical errors that made reading this book very distracting. I couldn't really focus on the content because I was so engrossed with the errors. The words just don't "flow" like they should. On several pages, the sentences were very drawn out and it made it feel like the author was just trying to fill up the page. Words were capitalized in the middle of sentences. There were several run-on sentences. The layout and design of the book were also very distracting.

Some of the Bible verses even had errors. When you're quoting from another source, I believe that it's extremely important to get those quotes absolutely correct. That's something an editor should've caught and corrected immediately, even if other grammatical/spelling errors were missed. You don't have to know the quote to notice spelling/grammatical errors.

I blame the editor for this poor quality. Authors often get caught up in the writing and don't pay as close attention to the grammatical and spelling errors. But, that's what editors are for. I don't know if was just a bad editor, or if there was even an editor involved, but there are obvious errors that should have been corrected.

While this is meant to be a small book, I feel that the pages are just too short. Most pages only contain one sentence and a Bible verse.

With that being said, I love the idea and concept of this book. I believe the author set out with good intentions and ideas for this book. This book is meant to be a daily devotional, with uplifting and inspirational words of wisdom to help readers through difficult times. The Bible verses and devotionals were carefully selected and written to be uplifting and encouraging. I have no doubt that, with the right editor, this book could be very inspiring for many readers. It is not gender- or age-specific; it can be enjoyed by all groups and ages. Although this book is meant for Christians and contains Bible verses, you don't have to be a devout follower of Jesus to appreciate this book. While Bible verses coincide with the devotionals, the devotionals themselves are, in fact, very inspiring and can be enjoyed by any person--even those who don't associate themselves with Christianity. Some devotionals don't even contain Bible verses; they are merely meant to encourage.

I think some people might really enjoy this book and find it to be exactly what it was meant to be. I just can't get past all the distractions jumping out of the pages. But, that is probably because I'm very prone to notice those types of things.

I would rate this book a 2 out of 4 stars due to the poor writing quality. It definitely needs to be edited for spelling, grammar, and design/layout.
