This is hands down one of the most powerful books I've ever read. It touches on some really hard subjects that even I had difficulty stomaching; such as child molestation, mental health, the stigma that once surrounded homosexuality, depression, and even suicide. It is spectacularly written and it succeeds in reminding the reader that even in the darkest of times there are moments so precious that as you live them you know it's going to stick with you for many years to come, maybe even your whole life. It also shows the importance of communicating, talking about your issues is better than anything else. For the main character he communicates with the reader via letters, and later finds there are actual people right there in the flesh that he could talk to about anything. If you ever feel lost, stuck on the sidelines in life, or feel like life couldn't possibly get any better, than this book is for you. If it can save my life than it sure as hell can save yours. :)
