The story follows a young orphan boy by the name of Fletcher, a blacksmith apprentice in the small town of Beartooth (no not the band). In a world where demons, orcs, elves, and dwarves exist. (The demons are heavily Pokémon inspired, which I adore)
This book sounded like the exact kind of book I’m into, and I wasn’t wrong! Aesthetically pleasing inside and out, I highly recommend The Novice for readers of all ages. I loved the characters and how they grew throughout the book, and there were a lot of twists and turns throughout as well. I can honestly see this becoming the next big thing, and having a successful adaption, whether it be a tv show or on the big screen. My only complaint was that this book simply just wasn’t long enough!

The Novice is the first book in a YA fantasy trilogy called The Summoner series out from Feiwel and Friends.“A warrior’s greatest enemy can also be his greatest teacher.”
