No book has ticked me off more than Evermore by Alyson Noel. I bought this thinking it looked interesting and that it might make a good read. Nope! While the main character was okay, the love interest was anything but. I wanted to throttle the guy. I mean I get it the main character had suffered some harsh stuff and could have used a little more time to be happy and heal, but this guy just went about it all wrong. He was very stereotypical at best. He didn't much care that the girl had responsibilities, like school, and just everything he did was pretentious and annoying as hell. Then at the end when the girl had to make the biggest decision of all he gets her to choose him. I'm sorry, but given the choice he would NOT be it. I don't condone violence against book but damn it I wanted to throw this one against the wall. Ugh. 0 out of 10 will never read again.

Hi there. I cannot tell you how much I feel you on this one. My reasons for hating this book vary a bit, but the bottom line is that I had the exact same urge when I finished it. I read it at a time when Twilight was the hot, new thing and already at the first few pages I remember thinking "what is this? a joke?". I think it had no originality in the plot, the characters were mediocre at best, as you have very nicely pointed out about the guy, and there wasn't even a speck of talent in the writing itself, at least to save some face. One of the worst I touched in the past years.

Possibly it is because it has been four years since I read this book, but I remember loving this book. I love Damien and Ever, especially as the series goes on. It is quite frustrating how many problems these two get into, but I gave this book at 4 out of 5.

Hi!
I haven't read this book in forever but I also remember reading it and wanting to just throw the book at the wall! But of course my bookworm instinct kicked in and I had to finish it and the rest of the series just HOPING for some kind of quality of the storyline that would create a better atmosphere but to be honest, the whole series was crap and is now on my "never read again" list!

I am sad to see these comments because I was super excited to read this book. Maybe I will wait a little longer before I read it.

When I first got this book I was excited, the blurb sounded good. And then I opened the book and got about nearly half way through it and I was just so bored and frustrated with the book, I can't even remember why I was frustrated.

This book made me so angry I read this when it first came out and I liked the first book fine but then it kept going on and on. It wasn't that the material was long or was truly boring it was just so very stereotypical and Damien and Ever had crazy and insane problems popping up from what seemed like no where. And the trials they faced were so crazy and they seemed so immaturely put together. I think the writer could have written something better.

I agree with several of you in not liking this series. I tried reading the entire series in hopes that I would grow to like the characters and writing style more, but I never did end up being a fan. The longer the series went the more frustrated I got by the lack of improvement or development. It felt like each book was basically playing out the same themes and problems without solving anything. I also did not like that Ever Bloom never grew as a main character. She constantly remained a victim and never grew from her mistakes. Damen started out as having potential as a character, but he too lacked depth or growth. I would give this series a 2 out of 4 stars. The theme and plot seem like a great idea, but never evolved to be anything more.

I've read all the books in this series and I loved them. Maybe it's because this was the first book I had ever read in this genre, but the characters are well written and the plot just gets better as the books go by. The only time I remember getting a little frustrated with the books is towards the last two books.

I read this book back when I first started high school, which was like seven years ago and I remember being so irritated with the book. I don't remember too much other than the fact that both Ever and Damen were annoying as hell. I cannot stand Ever to be honest she was kind of a brat always crying about how she has no freedom, even though her aunt has practically given her everything. I believe Twilight was much better than this series.

I completely agree with the rest of you, I only read the first book and by the end of it I felt that it had no originality. There was no build up or decent lead to the romance part. There were a lot of gaps of time and chapters that felt useless. I definitely didn't buy any other books in the series.
However, I did buy the first book from Alyson Noel's other series, Fated. I liked it well enough to buy the second book but then it went downhill. I lost interest in the story and it wasn't as intriguing as the first book, maybe because Alyson took the story in a different direction than I thought she was going to take or I wanted her to take.
