Say What You Will is a beautifully written story about an intelligent, quirky and lonely teenage girl with Cerebral Palsy. Amy needs help getting around school, doing everyday activities, eating, going to the bathroom. Feeling isolated by having adult nurses by her side everyday, she sends out an email to some classmates asking them to help her out. This book is a classic teen romance with a twist. It's not comedic but it's somehow lighthearted and easy to enjoy. It also has high drama near the end and although I usually don't sit well with that level of intensity (for a teen romance book) but because it was written from the perspective of a struggling teen, it really was enjoyable. The author wrote in such a way you could understand how Amy was feeling and completely relate without being sick. She was an outcast but survived without being hurt too much. She befriended an awkward teen who was also unaccepted and lonely. They feel in love, they struggled with their differences and moved on. There's a lovely and complex twist in the middle of this book which really did it for me. As someone fascinated by psychology there's so much to love about these two isolated characters who are able to be blunt with each other and open up. 100% worth a read.
