Choice by E. L. Schoeman takes readers on a captivating journey through a world filled with demons, monsters, and the weight of unexpected discoveries. From the first page, the story grips readers with its unique premise and introduces them to a strong-willed protagonist named Choice, whose duty is to hunt and kill supernatural creatures.

The story begins with a captivating premise that immediately grabs the reader's attention. The concept of hunting and killing demons and monsters is not new, but Schoeman brings a fresh perspective to the genre. The character of Choice is well-developed and relatable, and her internal struggle adds depth to the narrative. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she discovers that her fiancée is one of the very beings she has been fighting against. Shocked, Choice finds herself facing a dilemma that sets the stage for an enthralling tale.

One of the strengths of Choice is its fast-paced and action-packed plot. As Choice embarks on her journey, she is joined by Deacon, a survivor whom she saves from her fiancee's clutches. The dynamic between Choice and Deacon is well-developed and adds depth to the story. Together, they navigate a world filled with danger and uncover family secrets that shed light on their own identities.

The author's writing style is engaging and keeps readers on the edge of their seats. The descriptions of the battles against Leviathan and his demons are vivid and immersive, drawing readers into the heart of the action. Schoeman expertly weaves together elements of adventure, romance, and mystery, creating a multifaceted narrative that will appeal to fans of various genres.

While the book is professionally edited, there were a few minor errors that could have been caught during the editing process. Nevertheless, these instances did not detract significantly from the overall reading experience.

One aspect of the book that may be a concern for some readers is the incestual element. It is important to note that this aspect is subjective and may not resonate with everyone. However, it is handled with sensitivity and is not overly explicit.

In conclusion, Choice by E. L. Schoeman is an enjoyable and thrilling read that will captivate young adult readers. With its intriguing premise, well-developed characters, and a plot filled with secrets, love, heartbreak, and battles against supernatural creatures, this book offers a unique and immersive reading experience. Despite minor editing errors, the overall quality of the storytelling deserves a solid 5 out of 5 stars. Join Choice on her journey as she discovers her mission from the Voodoo priest and unravels the mysteries that lie within her own bloodline.

Ah, originally when I saw the word choice I didn't think it'd be the name of an eponymous character. Her name reflects what her life is going to be about. I can imagine having a fiancé that I'd have to kill. I wonder why supernatural creatures are being killed off though. Is it because they pose a threat to the peaceful existence of humans?
