The Bright Young Things series by Anna Godbersen is a trilogy set in New York in 1929. The series follows three girls: Cordelia Grey, Letty Larkspur, and Astrid Donal. Cordelia is a girl searching for her father who she knows nothing about and Letty is her best friend who also wants to become an actress. The two of them leave their small town in the Mid-West in order to go to New York. In New York they have exciting encounters and meet peculiar people all while realizing New York isn't just fun, games, and bright lights. They also meet Astrid a rich girl who seems to have it all but also has her share of secrets.
I loved this series, the plot is fast-paced and intriguing from start to finish. The characters are multi-dimensional and the author has a great way of writing. She makes you feels as if you've actually gone back in time to 1929, New York.
I would recommend this book to anyone. I give it 4 out of 4 stars.
