I'm currently reading this book, and was wondering if anyone had read it, or were interested in it?

It's a retelling of Peter Pan in the style of Splintered. We're not reading about Wendy, but about Gwendolyn.

So far it's not what I expected.

There are mini chapters (short paragraphs) before each chapter, about a boy heading off to war. Not sure who the boy is, or how he'll fit in, but I trust that I'll get the answer soon enough.

Gwendolyn is a likable enough character, and the fairies are more my style, dark and foreboding.
"Hook" is interesting, but I'm finding the interactions between him and Gwen, to put it nicely, not to my taste.

Hopefully both characters are revealed in better light before the book ends.

So what are others thoughts/opinions? I find myself very curious about others thoughts where this book is concerned.

The book is on my list. I will wait for your final opinion on it before starting it.

Well, I finished. I rated it a three (maybe a low, to middle three), mainly because I felt it was lacking in some areas. The relationships, and Gwen in particular, felt too juvenile for me, and Gwen just felt like her character missed the mark...like the character on the page wasn't the one that was supposed to be there.
The Captain and Pan both kind of stole the show. Both were big, imposing characters, and I liked them both for what they were.

Other characters weren't as fleshed out, and kind of fell on and off the page at the authors whim, but I still genuinely liked some of them.

The storyline isn't cookie cutter, and I wasn't sure what would happen, which was nice.

And I got the answer about the pre-chapters, and it was and wasn't what I thought.

Anyway, it's worth a read, and if it does become a series (I believe it could go either way) I will continue with the story.

Overall I enjoyed it and hope that, if the story continues, the author can improve on the way her characters interact, and maybe pull back and let Gwen be what she's supposed to be.

(I hate feeling like a character is standing behind the author, tapping their foot in exasperation, but that's how this felt to me.)

Of course, but it will take some time.

I found this book to be very very boring and could not even finish which was very disappointing to me as I was looking forward to it! I just could not get into the author's writing style or really the storyline in general.

I felt much the same. I'd had it on my list since before it's name change, and loved the idea of a Peter Pan retelling.

Thankfully I was able to stick it out. Once I was off the ship and things were actually happening ( ) I could get through it, and even appreciate certain things.

Completely understand not being able to though.
