I'd Tell You I'd Love But Then I'd Have to Kill You

This is the first book in the six book Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter. In all honesty, this isn't my favorite book out of the series. Maybe it's because I've read it over eight times or maybe it's because it's setting up the stage, but nonetheless, I have read this book eight times and I can guarantee you that I will read it eight more times. This books is about a girl who goes to a top secret spy school and has a clandestine relationship with a boy from town. There is nothing super amazing about the book, but it somehow takes you in and you want to know what will happen next. Somethings seems ridiculous, like the fact that sophomores in high school are taking organic chemistry or that they know multiple languages, but as I read it for the eighth time the other day, it dawned on me-they go to a school for geniuses so of course some of the stuff is going to sound ridiculous. I mean, there are 14 year olds graduating from college in the real world. Anyways, this book is definitely a nice, good, easy read and will set you up for one of the best series ever (I'm 21 and it's still one of my favorite series).

I completely agree with you.
The rest of the series was amazing. This being the first book however, seemed quite childish in comparison to the rest of the five books, but was entertaining nonetheless. I'd personally recommend everyone to try out this series, it will make your heart race, and you'll feel like you've grown up with the characters by the time they graduate from the Gallagher Academy. :)

I think I only read the first three books and I found them to be pretty average. I mean they were entertaining to read on a lazy day but that's about it.

I know this is not the strongest or most exciting book of the series, but it is a necessary one. There are some scenes toward the end that make the book more than worthwhile. I would absolutely love to see it become a movie or TV series. I just hope no one changes how much the intense and fast pace makes the way it comes across.

This series actually has books that get better and better and stronger with each story. If you have read the whole series, you know what I am talking about. The final book literally blew me away!

Yes! I got this book when I was little and I couldn't put it down! I've reread it so many times it's a wonder I haven't memorized the book yet. I got drawn in just like you said and it had to be taken away from me so that I'd stop reading it for a little while, so could actually sleep.

Me too! Who needs sleep when there is a Gallagher Girls book to read? LOL

I really loved this series and cannot give it enough love. Thank you so much for mentioning this great book.

I loved this series! It's been in my list of favorites since it came out. The first book does fall a bit short, but I think that's just from lack of experience, possibly? You know, the more you write, the better you get kind of thing.

I think all of us who read the series feel book one is out of sorts, since the characters and their development is just beginning. It is necessary to the arc of the sdsdtory though, as anyone who completed it finds out. Glad you liked it. It is a true favorite of mine.
