Teenage Love Affair by Ni Ni Simone talks about the hardships that come into play when dealing with an abusive relationship. The main character, a high school junior, has not only watched her mother go through an ugly abusive relationship with her father but also has encountered one herself, leaving her in the hospital lucky to be alive. Not only is she dealing with an abusive ex boyfriend she is also struggling to understand how let herself fully love her current boyfriend, who is nothing short of a gentleman. As she battle between love and fear this young lady not only finds the strength to move on but also finds the strength to let go of the pain that has haunted her, her whole life. This book is a great read not only for teens who may need help with dealing with domestic violence but also in recognizing the warning signs and know when to get out before it's too late. I definitely recommend this for all young adults and teens to read as they enter the dating world.
