I've read a good amount of post-apocalyptic books but none like this. This book is about two kids: One is a girl named Icie (Isis Ann Murray) a girl living in the modern time era who all of a sudden has to go into hiding in a shelter in Las Vegas when biological warfare becomes immanent, threatening to wipe out all of humanity. The other is a boy named Beckett who lives in a cave beneath the shelter a hundred years after the attack. The story follows them as they learn that survival means having to let go of old ways and embrace the new ones. I loved this book because Icie was such a badass, and so unorthodox from your average YA heroine (I hope that is the right word if not I am so sorry). It also shows very well how some people despite their initial appearance may not be cut out for the harshness of war or it's aftermath. And while the subject matter is serious there are small parts throughout the story that'll make you chuckle. I definitel recommend it.

10/10 do I even need to say it? hehe :D

ALL HAIL THE GREAT I AM!
