Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is a very interesting book. Written in the point of view of Jacob. It follows his difficulites after witnessing his grandfather's death. People begin thinking he is crazy after he describes what he saw kill his grandfather.
Jacob takes a trip to the island where his grandfather lived. He slowly learns that the stories his grandfather told him about children with peculiar abilities is true. He meets Emma Blum, whose peculiarity is fire. Jacob learns that he is peculiar himself, he can see those that hunt the peculiars. As things go on, Emma and Jacob's connection grows.
