Review: Are You There God? Its Me Margret, Judy Bloom

This book is very funny. Its about a new girl, Margret who is moving far away from where she lived before and has to go to a new school. Margaret is reflective about her life and beliefs. She prays to God about her concerns and thoughts. Over time, she gets several new friends who develop a club. The club gets together every week to tell stories about puberty and religion.
Margaret's new friend, Nancy, was especially interesting to me because she is ahead of the game and is a leader. Nancy came to Margaret's door to ask her to come swimming, which is one of the examples showing Nancy is outgoing.
Margaret develops out of her comfort zone as the story line unfolds and becomes more self confident. She is questioning her religion because one of her parents is Jewish and the other is Christian and the book reflects on this often.
This book covers topics that help others of Margaret's age understand they are not alone in the questions they have about growing up and self discovery.
My favorite part was when Margaret and her friends go to a party. This part was entertaining and exciting to read about.
There was no part of this book I didn't enjoy. I would highly recommend this to any tweens.
