This is a spoiler free review with my honest opinion.

Morgan Matson is known as an author who writes her stories set during the summertime. This is a fun summer read with great friendship dynamic and character development really shows in this story.

Andie Walker has her whole summer planned out by going to a program at Johns Hopkins. But, when her father Congressman Alexander Walker gets tied up in a scandal...Andie's whole summer is drastically changed. She has to find a last minute job which ends up being walking dogs (not her ideal situation).

Andie's summer ends up going in the direction she wasn't expecting but it's one of the most memorable summer's for her. I'm not a dog fan but I definitely grew to love Bertie in this story (the main dog) and loved seeing Andie's new love for dogs grow.

The friendship dynamic in this book is amazing! This group of friends is my new favorite group and I wished I had them as friends while in high school. They all have their own stories as characters and we get to know them like we have been hanging out with them the whole summer. The friendship doesn't feel fake because the girls go through a time where they are not speaking to each other. This made it feel like a real friend group because this tends to happen and I really enjoyed that.

You're going to swoon over the love interest in this book, Clark! I'm not going to give anything about him away but you will be falling for him like Andie does! He's a total fantasy/sci-fi nerd with a love for fictional worlds such as Doctor Who.

Overall, I have only read one of Morgan Matson's other books which was Amy and Roger's Epic Detour. I don't have much to compare this book to but I didn't feel satisfied when finishing the book. It felt like it lacked something. It felt very predictable and I almost guessed everything there was to guess.

Would I recommend? Yes. This is a totally swoon worthy romance and I enjoyed the friendship group & character development very much. Also, if you have read Morgan's other books such as Since You've Been Gone and Second Chance Summer there are characters from those hidden in this book!
