Review for Blind Spot by Laura Ellen (some spoilers?)

Blind Spot is about Roswell Hart, a girl with macular degeneration that finds herself in the middle of a murder case.
The first half of the book I found infuriating, considering how unfair Roz is treated. It was basically Roz and all the problems macular degeneration gives her. It’s good for awareness of macular degeneration (I was previously unaware of such eye disease), but it’s a little rambling.
The second half was the really good part. There were lots of twists and turns in the mystery that kept me on my toes and flipping pages late into the night and in places probably deemed unsuitable for reading. However, it seems as if Roz has overcome the barriers of macular degeneration deeper into the book and it no longer seems to bother her. The second half is more concentrated on Tricia’s death than on Roz, although Roz has a significant impact in the mystery. The ending was surprising; Ethan was not mentioned in most of the book and only appeared in 1) when Roz first gives Jonathan money to buy pot for Tricia and 2) when the truth comes out. Also, Jonathan seemed like a self-absorbed, arrogant player for the most of the book but in the last 20 pages or so he transforms into a guy almost like Greg. Sort of like the author paused there for quite a while before continuing to write.
I was honestly not very satisfied with the ending. It left me hanging on the edge, not knowing what actually happened to Tricia. I personally do not like cliff-hangers or unfinished endings unless there’s going to be a sequel. (take Percy Jackson for instance, those cliff hangers are fine)
I am fairly satisfied with this book (like 3.4-4 stars?) though I would not call it mind-shockingly good. It would get my five stars if there was a sequel. Hope Tricia's death gets solved!
