Guardians of Machu Picchu: Elixir of Life is a historical fantasy novel that tells the story of Ocideron, a young Inca warrior who seeks to join the guardians of Machu Picchu, a secret society of immortal warriors who protect the sacred city and the secrets of Peru from the Spanish invaders. Along the way, he meets Apo-Myta, the leader of the guardians, who recognizes him as the next chosen one by the sun god Inti. Together, they face many dangers and challenges as they try to save their people and their land from the ruthless conquistadors.

The book is a thrilling adventure that blends history, mythology, and magic in an original and captivating way. The author does a great job of creating a vivid and realistic setting of the 16th century Peru, with rich descriptions of the culture, the landscape, and the conflicts. The book also explores themes such as loyalty, courage, love, and destiny, as the characters struggle to find their place and purpose in a changing world.

The book is not without flaws, however. The plot is sometimes too fast-paced and confusing, with many events happening in a short span of time and without enough explanation or transition. The book could have benefited from more editing and proofreading, as there are several grammatical errors and typos throughout the text. For example, on page 27, the author writes "He was the only one that had been able to escape the Spanish" instead of "He was the only one who had been able to escape the Spanish". On page 54, the author writes "He was the only one that could see the city" instead of "He was the only one who could see the city". These mistakes are minor, but they can distract the reader and affect the quality of the writing.

Overall, I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. It is an enjoyable and exciting read for fans of historical fantasy and adventure, but it could have been improved with more clarity and accuracy. Here are some of the reasons for my rating:

- The book has a thrilling and original plot that blends history, mythology, and magic in an captivating way. The book explores themes such as loyalty, courage, love, and destiny, as the characters struggle to find their place and purpose in a changing world. The book also creates a vivid and realistic setting of the 16th century Peru, with rich descriptions of the culture, the landscape, and the conflicts. The book keeps the reader engaged and curious about the secrets and the prophecy of the guardians of Machu Picchu.
- The book has some flaws, however, that affect the quality and the enjoyment of the reading. The plot is sometimes too fast-paced and confusing, with many events happening in a short span of time and without enough explanation or transition. The book could have benefited from more editing and proofreading, as there are several grammatical errors and typos throughout the text. The book also has some inconsistencies and inaccuracies in the historical and the mythological aspects, which may bother some readers who are familiar with the Inca culture and history.
- The book is the first in a series, and it ends with a cliffhanger, which may leave some readers unsatisfied or frustrated. The book promises more action, adventure, and mystery in the next books, but it also leaves many questions unanswered and many plot threads unresolved. The book may appeal to readers who enjoy historical fantasy and adventure, but it may also disappoint readers who expect more clarity and accuracy.
