The book discusses the journey of a teenage girl who has to survive in a country where she's completely clueless about their way of life and tradition. Her life is based on the choices and decisions she makes. The book discusses the theme of friendship and how friends bring comfort to each other, and that is seen in how Joren supports Cassi. It also shows the bond between family and the unspoken supremacy of leaders in positions of power and how their decisions affect the citizens that exist in the country.
 
I love a lot of things about the book. First, the author did a good job of capturing the passage of time. The growth of the characters and their development in behavior are impeccable. Certain themes in the book could have been hard for readers to accept, but the author's tone throughout the book makes it easy to assimilate and empathize with the characters. I also love how there's a playlist to book.
 
There's nothing I dislike about the book; there are no dull moments throughout the book. The book has an edgy glow to it from the beginning until the end. The book comes to a close with a bittersweet feeling, but I still love it and look forward to part two of Callasandra Fractured by Stephanie Douglas.
 
I rate the book a solid five out of five stars for how the author comforted the reader with the distant yet close relationship that exists between Cassi and Haley.
 
The book's editing is top-notch. I recommend this book to lovers of thrillers, fantasy, and light romance.

I would love to see Cassi's growth. How did she end up in an unknown place? Does she survive in a place with such strict rules? The book also sheds light on how the decisions of the rulers affect the people.
