Woodland, Family Portrait by Art Lionson intricately weaves a tale set in the year 2043, where automation has rendered many jobless. Amidst this turmoil, Jason and Eddie, the eldest siblings of the Woodland family, embark on a journey to alleviate their family's financial woes. Their endeavours encompass navigating their younger brother's dangerous association with drug dealers while simultaneously seeking employment. However, their former employer's betrayal leads them into a web of deceit and false accusations, challenging their resolve and unity as a family.
The reason I love this book is Lionson's masterful writing style, which vividly explores the challenges of life in 2043 and the resilience of humanity. His ability to bring the characters to life, depicting their relatable struggles, emotional journeys, and unwavering commitment to family, resonates deeply with me. Jason's admirable dedication to his family despite the chaos around him solidifies him as my favourite character, making this book a compelling and unforgettable read.
This book was a good read. I don't dislike this book because, despite its complexity in the middle with the introduction of numerous characters and plotlines, it challenges me to maintain maximum concentration, ensuring I don't miss any crucial details. The meticulous research, time, and attention to detail invested in its creation culminate in a beautifully crafted masterpiece that keeps me engaged and on the edge of my seat from start to finish, making it an enjoyable and compelling read. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free.
