It is amazing to me that a twelve year old wrote this book. I got a copy today, and look forward to the read. Thank you for the great review!

I am really looking forward to reading Island Games after reading your wonderful review. The mention of your own experience in a creative writing class at about the same age really brings the achievement of this young author into focus. The story line sounds great, interesting and adventurous. Now.... I’m actually looking forward to the “cliffhanger”. Thanks for the great review!

That's a remarkable achievement for a 12 year old to write a book! No doubt boys of that age will really enjoy as the author will understand what makes them tick.

Interesting review. I'd like to read this book to see the surprising challeges the boys faced while in the desert.

This sounds like a well written and exciting novel. I can't believe the author wrote this when he was twelve. I am very curious about this novel now. Great job on the review and thank you for sharing.

I am surprised that a twelve year old wrote a book that has received so many 4 stars ratings. I love adventure novels and would sure love this especially since you noted that it has no foul sexual hints. Great review.

Coming from a twelve year old author, Caleb J. Boyer, and judging from the book cover plus the great review, this book is definitely a must read. I can't wait to read and review it, too.

This is an awesome book. And written when he was only 12. Wish I could write this well now!

I have to say that I am already intrigued. I'm also quite impressed with how young the author is--he is well on his way to becoming very successful!

This review makes no sense to me. The reviewer said the book is in the round adult genre but the writing is simple. The writing in young adult novel is simple that is why it goes in the young adult genre. It’s almost as if the reviewer can’t give a completely positive review. Over all based on the review this sounds like an interesting read.

Sounds like JUST my type of book! It seems to have the perfect language and it's quite interesting to know that it's written by a pre-teen! I've done creative writing in school as well, but this must be simply amazing. Congrats on the review.

As one commenter stated, "Shame on me!" for not being able to write an essay, much less, a whole story, AT the age of "old" with flawless spelling and grammar. I'm gonna go bury my head in sand and cry! LOL

This is a great review, thanks for your thoughts. It sounds like a very interesting book to read and I look forward to uncovering the mystery. Reminds me of Lord of the Flies themes.
