Review of Woodland. Family Portrait
Woodland: Family Portrait by Art Lionson is a futuristic fiction story that took place in 2043. This is the story of the Woodland family, their financial struggles, their family bond, and how they dealt with serious incidents. Growing up in a poor neighborhood, Jason and Eddie, the eldest two, took on the burden of contributing to the family's financial state by getting a job. A tragic turn of events occurred when their sister Mia suffered from a chronic genetic disease, which pushed Jason and Eddie to take a job offer that turned out to be a trap, resulting in them being framed and imprisoned. The brothers faced betrayal, but their drive to seek justice led them out of jail. The book also focuses on the wise and loyal dog of the woodlands, "Spark," who is more of a personal companion to the brothers.
Woodland: Family Portrait is an interesting and entertaining read, while there are scenarios that may be distressing to some people. The author did inform the reader so that they would know how to read through such scenes. This book teaches about the relationship that families have and how it helps them overcome problems. Every page of this book is interesting. The author introduced the actions early on, and they just grew better from there, with plenty of suspense and story twists to keep you on the edge. I adore the character of Jason as the oldest; he was embraced by the reality of his family on time, and he took it as a personal responsibility to protect his family alongside Eddie. They helped their brother, who was owing money to certain drug dealers. With well-developed characters who are relatable, the author is an excellent storyteller, as no aspect of this book was boring or repetitive. This book teaches loyalty not just from the human characters but also from Spark. His role added depth to the write-up.
This book is perfect for me. I enjoyed every aspect of it. I appreciate the depth of emotions in this novel and how the author masterfully drew the reader in. You will feel the sorrow of betrayal, the joy of having a family that remains together, and the desire to see justice win. I enjoyed the unexpected twists and turns in this novel; they kept me captivated. The author included real-life societal challenges in this dramatized novel, allowing the reader to learn about other social issues that affect people. The characters are relatable, and their roles do not confuse the reader. Though the plot setting was in 2043, the author's descriptions did not seem odd to me, and the vocabulary was intelligible. I recommend this book to fictional fans who enjoy suspense, action, and family bonds. I'll give it a 5 out of 5-star rating. I didn't find any errors; this is because of the professional editing of the book.
